Perfect Frozen Margarita

Tuesday, April 21, 2020

I think one of the places I’m missing most while at home is Mexican restaurants. I can’t wait to stuff my face with so much chips and queso that I can’t finish my meal, all while sipping on a sweet margarita. Since I don’t know the next time I’ll be able to indulge in a meal at a Mexican restaurant, I’ve been working on making my own margaritas at home. The weather is warming up, so it's the perfect time to day drink on your patio. I'ts noon somewhere, right? No judgement here!

This is seriously the easiest recipe ever, perfect for your next quarantine happy hour.

You’ll Need:

  • Blender
  • Tequila of your choice
  • Cointreau
  • Ice
  • Frozen Fruit or Juice Concentrate

For a classic margarita, use lime juice. I’ve also experimented with berries, mango and pineapple for fun fruity cocktails. One mistake I made the first time was using a blend of tropical fruit that included coconut - the texture of the shredded coconut is impossible to blend out.

Steps:

  1. Pour 4 oz of tequila and 2 oz  of Cointreau into your blender.
  2. Add 1 cup of frozen fruit or juice concentrate
  3. Fill the remaining space with ice
  4. Blend until smooth and serve immediately!

It's seriously that simple. This recipe makes enough to fill a pitcher but if you want to make less just keep the ratio of tequila to Cointreau 2:1.  If you try this at home, let me know how your margaritas turn out!

xo,

Pin this recipe for later!
