I’m pretty sure every white girl put Magnolia Market and the Silos on their bucket list sometime in the last few years. I mean, why wouldn’t you? The whole venue is made for Instagram and we’re all obsessed with Joanna Gaines’ signature farmhouse style.
I visited Waco, Texas in 2017 to see Magnolia Market at the Silos for myself. On a spring break trip to Dallas (only a 1.5 hour drive), I also spent a couple days in Waco. Finding Magnolia Market and Gardens was easy, as the silos stand out above all other buildings. There's also a trolley that runs throughout downtown Waco and out to the silos.
The Market at the Silos
When I visited the silos, the line to enter the market wrapped onto the street by 10am. It’s definitely worth it to get there early and shop first. Just don't go on a Sunday, as all Magnolia businesses are closed. Visiting early in the week is probably your best bet for a less populated experience. The market is stocked with plenty of candles, apparel and home decor. Of course, I caved and grabbed a Magnolia shirt.
Silos Baking Co.
Silos Baking Co is stocked with baked goods daily. The menu includes pastries, cupcakes with Fixer Upper-inspired names, cookies and coffee. Gluten-free options are available! There are also food trucks on the lot where you can grab a more substantial bite to eat.
The Lawn
The silos are surrounded by gorgeous decor and activities. The lawn allows space for kids to run around and play yard games like corn hole or football. Chip and Joanna also host events at the silos throughout the year. There are plenty of photo ops around the outdoor space, from flower walls to murals.
Magnolia Seed + Supply
There’s a garden full of seasonal produce and flowers to explore. You can also shop for seeds and gardening supplies. The Seed + Supply shop is stocked with gardening tools, flower-growing kits and planter pots.
Waco is a relatively small town, especially compared to well-known Texas cities like Dallas or Austin. With a population of just over 138,000, plenty of locals have been inspired by 'Fixer Upper.' You'll find retail stores with similar aesthetics and even some you may recognize from the show. Waco is also home to a few of its own attractions, like the Dr Pepper Museum and the Waco Mammoth National Monument.
